Essence of Indonesia & Cambodia 13 Days

Day 1

Welcome to the Island of Gods! Our staff will greet you at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport and transfer you to Ubud, center of Balinese art and culture.

Day 2

Start cultural exploration with the 'mother temple' of Besakih. Our guide will take you to the most sacred part of the temple, Penatara Agung, which can be entered only by worshipers. Immerse on Balinese spiritual Hindu culture and mythology. Witness rich volcanic landscape and thriving community around the majestic Mount Agung before making final stop at Tirta Empul, the holy spring bathing pool. Tirta Empul water is very important to Balinese Hindus as it is the source of other spring water in Bali. (B,L)

Day 3

DOYANTravel signature walking tour starts at a small village, takes you through animal farms, plantation, community center, local temple and ends on the other side of the hill with magnificent view of Jatiluwih rice terrace. Learn the history of the land, culture and its local people. Continue on the hillside of Bedugul and stroll around Beratan Lake to visit the most photographed temple in Bali. Stop by at fruit market to sample various exotic fruits. (B)

Day 4

Today's first activity is watching the famous Balinese Barong dance performance. Barong dance is classic example of Balinese way of acting out mythology, a story telling between good and evil. Visit local market and Ubud art community afterward. Balinese art and culture masterpiece have been legendary throughout the world. In fact, a prominent leading painter, Antonio Blanco was imprisoned by the island culture and beauty that he spent most of his life in Bali. Shop for unique design of Balinese wood carving, painting and batik clothes before taking a walk amongst 340 free roaming Balinese long-tailed macaque troops. (B)

Day 5

Venture to Bali East and visit water palace/garden. This 1 acre complex consists of a maze of pools and fountains surround by a lush garden and stone carving status. Explore the surrounding area of rice paddy terraces and visit the oldest Balinese traditional village that represents the unqiue Hindu Prehistoric cultures. Stop for a rest and enjoy the view of quiet hidden beach far away from the glitz of Bali South. (B)

Day 6

Take a fun and an unforgettable downhill bike tour in the morning. Journey through 26km of lush green rice field valleys and small villages. Pass century-old temples and meet local children who happily greet you with American ‘high five’. Learn the history of the land, culture and its people. Stop to sample a variety of exotic fruits and spices then continue through the towering bamboo forest of Taro before ending with lunch at the park. End your day with a visit to famous Tanah Lot for sunset viewing. Located on a large offshore rock, Tanah Lot is known for its beautiful view as well as legend story of poisonous sea snakes that are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. Day 7

Shop at the vibrant and trendy Seminyak district, or enjoy spa and the beaches. Late afternoon visit Uluwatu temple perched right on the edge of the cliff. Enjoy the Kecak fire Dance during the magical sunset. Finish the night with a traditional BBQ Balinese dinner at the beach. (B, D)

Day 8

Transfer to Bali airport to catch a morning flight to Java. Meet and greet DOYANTravel driver and guide at Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto International Airport. Check into your hotel followed by the ‘Andong’ traditional horse carriage village tour late afternoon. Enjoy the fresh mountain air of Mt. Merapi and the friendliness of Javanese people. (B)

Day 9

Rise early morning and start once in a lifetime experience to see sunrise at Borobudur. Witness the magical sunrise and experience the silent and lonely dawn of the temple before it opens to the public. Taste classic Javanese dishes prepared over a charcoal fire and served on banana leaves. Continue your journey to the palace to learn about the 'abdi dalem' (people who volunteer and dedicate their life to the King). Visit Prambanan temple, one of the grandest Hindu temples in Southeast Asia. Watch famous unique traditional Javanese Ramayana ballet in the evening. (B, L, D)

Day 10

Fly to Siem Reap in the morning. Upon arrival at Siem Reap airport, you will be greeted and transferred to hotel. In the afternoon, visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Visit the village and take an excursion in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. Have dinner and enjoy Khmer Traditional Dance Show at local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 11

Start early morning to witness sunrise at magnificent Angkor Wat. It is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. (B)

Discover the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century). Walk through the South Gate to Bayon Temple, located right at the center of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Continue the journey to the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. (B)

Day 12

Visit Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Continue to Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool and ancient temples of Ta Som and Preah Khan. Uncover the secret of 'The Royal Bath Srah Srang' that once used for ritual bathing and end your day with a visit to the first temple to be constructed wholly of sandstone in late 10 century, Ta Keo. Day 13

Transfer to the airport for flight to your next destination. End of tour.
