Day 1 - Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Meet and greet at Saigon's Tan Son Nhat Airport. Free time to relax and rest after your flights. Enjoy your first dinner at local Vietnamese Restaurant.
Day 2 - Saigon City Tour (B, L)
Discover the dynamic city of Saigon and its main street Dong Khoi Street. Visit poignant War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace and some classic French architecture colonial building such as Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office and the Municipal Theater. Have a light lunch at the renowned Pho 2000 Restaurant (previous visitors include former US president Bill Clinton).
Day 3 -Mekong Delta (B, L)
Drive for 2 hours to a small town called Ben Tre and board a traditional wooden boat to explore the daily life of local people along the canals and waterways of Mekong Delta. Stop at floating fruit market and visit traditional local industry such as pop rice, pop corn, rice paper, coconut candy and local wine production.
Day 4- Saigon to Da Nang and Hoi An (B, D)
Morning flight to Da Nang in Central Vietnam. From here, we will take you to Hoi An, known for its well-preserved Ancient Town. Stop at Marble Mountains before check in to the hotel. Afternoon fun cooking class with a talented Vietnamese chef who will take you to the local market to select the fresh ingredients to cook some famous Vietnamese dishes. Visit vibrant Hoi An Ancient Town by the river at night and mingle with the locals to explore the unique shops and local restaurants.
Day 5 - Hoi An to Hue (B, L)
After breakfast, we will take a four hour journey by car to Hue. We will pass a scenic China Beach (where US GIs used to unwind) and Hai Van before descending to Lang Co Beach for a coffee break. In Hue we will visit the Citadel and Forbidden Purple City, the capital city during Nguyen Dynasty. Explore Trang Tien Bridge and the famous Perfume River after a visit to Dong Ba market.
Day 6 - Hue City Tour and Hanoi (B, L)
Half day city tour starting with morning cruise on the Perfume River. First stop is the Thien Mu Pagoda with its characteristic seven tiered tower and the display of Austin car that's famous for carriying Monk Thich Quang Duc to Saigon to set himself on fire in 1963 as a protest against the unfair treatment of Buddhists by the Diem regime. Stop at the monastery to have vegetarian dishes cook by the bikunis before continuing to Emperror Tu Duc Mausoleum, a large mausoleum which reflects a mix of Asian and European Architecture style.
Transfer to Hanoi by air in the evening.
Day 7- Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Full day Hanoi City Tour; Explore Thang Long Ancient Citadel and Ho Chi Minh Complex including former president's mausoleum and his simple stilt house residence as well as the One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to Temple of Literature dedicated to Confucius, followed by interesting Museum of Ethnology. Lunch at KOTO (Know One Teach One) where staffs are mostly former street children trained in cookery and hospitality.
Enjoy cyclo ride through the famous Hoan KIem Lake and the French Quarter of Hanoi in the evening. Stop at Ngoc son Temple and the Huc Bridge and start the walking tour through the French architecture neighborhood of the Hanoi old streets. Enjoy some local beer tasting along with local grills and favorite Hanoi dish dinner, 'Steam Boat' at local restaurant. End the evening with cultural show performance.
Day 8 - Hanoi to Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Enjoy a relaxing day trip to majestic Halong Bay. Photo stop along the way and visit Hong Ngoc Charity Center. Take a luxury traditional junk boat and begin the overnight cruise through Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Gulf of Tonkin. Enjoy the outstanding scenic beauty of limestone pillars with variety of coastal erosional features such as arches and caves. stop at the bays' most well-known caves. Climb Titop Mountain and enjoy the panoramic view of Halong Bay from the top. Try squid fishing at night or take taichi the morning. Full meal on the boat (Program may differ based on the cruise ship).
Day 9 - Halong Bay to Hanoi (B, L)
Wake up early to witness a memorable sunrise over the bay, followed by taichi at the deck. Kayak or take a traditional non-motorized boat to explore some more caves. Return to the boat for a refreshing lunch before heading back to the harbor. Transfer back to Hanoi.
Day 10 - Depart Hanoi (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, free time. Transferred to the airport for departure. End of service.
